Bronchospasm is a narrowing of the airway that usually comes and goes. You may be at risk for bronchospasm if you have a chest cold or allergies. You may also be at risk if you are bothered by air pollution, certain medicines, cold, dry air, smoke, or strong odors. Exercise may worsen your symptoms. Bronchospasms may make it hard for you to breathe. Aftercare Instructions: 1. Take your medications directed. 2. Maintain a high fluid intake. See your HealthCare Provider if: 1. You have problems that may be caused by your medicines. 2. You have increased wheezing, coughing, or trouble breathing even after taking your medicines. 3. Your medicines do not relieve your symptoms. Seek care immediately or call 911 if: 1. You have very bad pain in your chest. 2. You have trouble thinking or faint. 3. You are so short of breath that you have trouble walking and talking. 4. Your chest and neck are pulled or sucked in with each breath.
