Our primary care team strive for excellence while practicing confident, compassionate and empathetic patient care.
We are committed to comprehensive quality healthcare for patients who desire continuity of care. We understand choosing an internal medicine physician is a difficult decision to make, and we are prepared to meet a broad range of adult health care needs.  Our primary care practice specializes in the care of patients 18 years of age and older.  We are located on the campus of HCA Mercy Hospital in the Professional Building Suite 401 in Coconut Grove.  

Our practice is built on a foundational belief that an enduring, long-term relationship between a patient and their doctor is the absolute cornerstone of effective healthcare. We do not just treat illnesses as they arise; we partner with you over your entire lifetime to actively promote health, prevent the onset of disease, and tightly manage chronic conditions to avoid future complications.

Ricardo Calonge, MD, FACP is a board certified Internal Medicine doctor who has been practicing medicine since 2001 after he graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.  He then completed his internal medicine residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was selected by medical students to receive the Resident Teaching Award.   He is a member of the Florida Medical Association (FMA) and was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.  Hospital privileges include Mercy Hospital and Doctor's Hospital.  He is a member of the board and volunteer physician of St. John Bosco Clinic (Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Miami) providing health care to the most medically indigent population in Miami-Dade County.  Dr. Calonge is also an Internal Medicine Clinical Instructor for the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. 

Nizme Meza-Ruiz, ARNP, FNP-C obtained her ARNP degree through the University of Miami.  Prior to this, she earned her Medical Degree (M.D.) at Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 1998.  She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  

Marise Heredero Diaz, ARNP, FNP-C obtained her ARNP degree at Miami Regional University. Prior to working with Dr. Calonge, she has held jobs at the University of Miami Hospital and HCA Mercy Hospital.  She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
