Postoperative Care after Skin Cancer Surgery
Cover the wound with antibiotic ointment (Bacitracin/Bactroban/Neosporin) at least three times a day.
If you have a graft a “bolster” will be placed. This is a yellow dressing with sutures over it. This will be removed about one week after surgery.
Activity: you may resume your normal activity, diet and bathing the day after surgery. If the wound gets wet, simply pat it dry and cover it with antibiotic ointment.
Follow-up: Make an appointment to see me in my office about 8 days after surgery to remove the sutures.
